The creative urge has been working overtime recently since I started writing flash fiction or micro-fiction.
I’m aiming to put up a new story every day.
Check out how I’m keeping up with this target at my free online flash fiction site.

Every year, I write a Christmas story for all my friends around the world. It’s my way of celebrating Xmas and it’s easier than sending out Christmas cards.
The Rob Hopcott Christmas Story for 2007 is called ‘The Ultimate Christmas Kiss Confession’.
It started off being a flash fiction or very short story but rather grew all of it’s own accord.
My new writing tends to be posted to my blog sites because they easily allow interaction and I’d love to hear from any of my old friends.
Bye for now.

Hanging out on a rocky ledge is fun unless you are terrified of heights discovers Amanda.
But she soon feels less scared when she is joined by her friend and lover David.
Read about how Amanda goes abseiling for the first and, possibly, the last time and gets more from the experience than she expected in her wildest dreams.
Read ‘Hanging Out Together on a Rocky Cliff Face’ an abseiling short story by Rob Hopcott
Hope you like it

News from Rob Hopcott
The Unwilling Vampire by Rob Hopcott is about Jennifer, a fresh faced young cub reporter, who is sent on her first assignment by the frosty faced editor of a small sleepy rural town journal to report on local folk lore that there are vampires in the woods.
It’s make or break for Jennifer but everybody she interviews thinks she’s been sent to find a glass hammer until she receives a telephone call at her home …
Bye for now (and perhaps for a very long time)

Animated friends is a short story about a brief encounter of the animated kind.
This story has a story behind it. As the number of sites I have grows, it seems I have less and less time to do writing. All my time seems to be spent looking after technical issues with the various Wordpress and Blogger blogs.
In particular, I’ve been somewhat unsuccessful in getting Wordpress ported to my laptop so I can achieve my dream of being an ‘author in a campervan in rural lanes’.
Hence, I’ve sought out and found a new web log that seems to work offline just as well as online and it’s called Thingamablog.
Animated Friends is the first story I’ve written using this new weblog software and it seems to work ok, although people will have to post comments to connected Wordpress or Blogger blogs as this feature is not available in Thingamablog because it produces static pages offline which are then uploaded when I get back to the ranch (er spare bedroom).
Hopefully, the new blogging software will enable me to focus much more on producing lots of great stories – or at least having the time to have a try.
I hope you like ‘Animated Friends’ – an anime or animation short story by Rob Hopcott.

Joining up the world wide web by human hand (as opposed to leaving it all to the electronic driven search engines) is always a worthwhile activity and I reckon I haven’t done enough of it recently so my new years resolution is to create as many links as I can to other free online story writers.
I’ve started with free online novels and if you nip over to my free online novels blog you will now find a list of authors of excellence as well as a list of my free online novels.
In particular, check out Naomi Dathan and Peter Fairbrother who are well worth a visit.

For a while I’ve been battling with the concept of podcasting and I now think I’ve got it cracked
I hope you enjoy listening to my first podcast short story Three Christmas Lovers
By for now

My 2006 Christmas short story is called ‘Three Christmas Lovers’.
Three men woo one lady. Who will win her true love?
I hope you enjoy reading ‘Three Christmas Lovers’ and have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Painting pictures of the mind is a creative short story by Rob Hopcott which examines living paintings and the stories they contain that bring art to life for viewers and artists.
The reader is drawn into a web of stories through a series of interconnected characters that present reality from different points of view.
Reality undergoes rapid change throughout this short story which is unsettling until the story is over, tensions are resolved and the full picture is painted.
