The Unwilling Vampire by Rob Hopcott is about Jennifer, a fresh faced young cub reporter, who is sent on her first assignment by the frosty faced editor of a small sleepy rural town journal to report on local folk lore that there are vampires in the woods.
It’s make or break for Jennifer but everybody she interviews thinks she’s been sent to find a glass hammer until she receives a telephone call at her home …

Animated friends is a short story about a brief encounter of the animated kind.
This story has a story behind it. As the number of sites I have grows, it seems I have less and less time to do writing. All my time seems to be spent looking after technical issues with the various Wordpress and Blogger blogs.
In particular, I’ve been somewhat unsuccessful in getting Wordpress ported to my laptop so I can achieve my dream of being an ‘author in a campervan in rural lanes’.
Hence, I’ve sought out and found a new web log that seems to work offline just as well as online and it’s called Thingamablog.
Animated Friends is the first story I’ve written using this new weblog software and it seems to work ok, although people will have to post comments to connected Wordpress or Blogger blogs as this feature is not available in Thingamablog because it produces static pages offline which are then uploaded when I get back to the ranch (er spare bedroom).
Hopefully, the new blogging software will enable me to focus much more on producing lots of great stories - or at least having the time to have a try.
I hope you like ‘Animated Friends’ - an anime or animation short story by Rob Hopcott.
Bye for now

This blog is a record of all the free online novels and short stories that I have written and posted online. I hope you enjoy them.
My sites have grown somewhat organically with many web space revisions over the years so it’s not always easy to find everything. This blog aims to provide a central reference point so that readers can always find my latest stories wherever I put them.
If you would like to know when I’ve written a new story, simply point your News Aggregator at this blog and the wonderful RSS technology will instantly tell you when I update this site with news of my latest story.
If you would like to know more about news aggregators and how they can help you receive news of updates without giving anybody your email address simply click on the link Why Use RSS News Aggregators? on the right hand side.
Links to all my free online stories can be found on the right hand side under Free Online Novels / Novellas and Free Online Short Stories by Rob Hopcott.
